Since the 1980s, a substantial body of literature has emerged exploring application psychoanalytic theory in field translation. Lawrence Venuti’s article, “The Difference That Translation Makes: The Translator’s Unconscious,” occupies prominent position within this for two significant reasons: First, challenging descriptive paradigm neglecting translator’s unconscious while primarily focusing on norms that influence translational behavior, article urges translation scholars to engage comprehensive and critical analyses unconscious. Second, unlike most studies field, provides concrete examples attempts demonstrate how such can be conducted. Building upon as case study, paper aims identify potential methodological challenges criticism practices employ framework explore text-centered approach help overcome them.
